POLL of the DAY (40): FREE DEGREES?

POLL of the DAY (40): FREE DEGREES?

In most well off countries primary and secondary education is state funded so the individual is not required to pay.

However Higher Education (any education beyond secondary school including university degree programmes but also vocational training qualifications) almost always require the student to pay for their studies. Tertiary fees can be substantial and may take the student many years, even decades to pay off. On the other hand a tertiary qualification usually equates with a higher paying job, although this is dependent on the job market and the qualification gained.
